1/1/2003: INTEXT is free software: the full version of INTEXT text analysis software is now free. Also the documentation as a PDF-file is included. You can use the program also for commercial purposes, the distribution of the software however ist not allowed. Questions and consulting regarding INTEXT are not free.
INTEXT is a 32bit MS-DOS program and relies on EMS. If problems with this arise: the manual contains detailed examples. Normally INTEXT runs on every modern Windows computer without manual intervention, even on Windows-XP.
INTEXT is distributed via the internet. Send an e-mail to with the following information (copy and paste):

User-id and password will be mailed to you, you can download INTEXT yourself (ca. 1 MB). A CD with manual and sample files costs 20 €, this also contains the test versions of TextQuest (the Windows version of INTEXT with manual), also test versions of SimStat, ConClus, TextGrab, TextAnalyst, PolyAnalyst, and HyperResearch. You find more information on these programs at the additional software item. Your data will be kept secret and will not be given to anyone else. They will be used for own purposes only (e-mails). If you do not receive an answer within 5 days, please mail again. Mostly you will get an answer within 24 hours or earlier.
The pages show screenshots, these are not taken from INTEXT but from the Windows version TextQuest. The parameters however are identical in both programs.
Download of Intext
You can download the files either by left click or if you want to save it, right click. Netscape Users: The first file you want to download must be left clicked, after entering userid and password you can save the remaining file with a right click. The first line is the user-id (Benutzerkennung), the second line is the password. PDF-files can be viewed, searched and printed using the free Adobe's Acrobat Reader . The installation program was changed on January, 30th, 2003.
